The Thing: Remastered Now Available on PC and Consoles

Nightdive Studios has released The Thing: Remastered digitally across various platforms including Windows PC via Steam (Steam Deck Verified) and GOG, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One and Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and is also available to stream on NVIDIA GeForce NOW.

Return to U.S. Outpost #31

The Thing: Remastered marks a return to the chilling setting inspired by Universal Pictures’ 1982 film. Developed with Nightdive’s proprietary KEX Engine, the game now supports up to 4K resolution at 120FPS on supported devices. Key features include:

Players step into the boots of Captain J.F. Blake and lead a squad through the frozen arctic tundra, facing off against terrifying monsters that range from scuttling head-spiders to gigantic multi-tentacled bosses.

The game allows players to command up to four NPCs—Soldier, Medic, and Engineer classes—through 11 levels of horror. Squad management is crucial as the shape-shifting alien can disguise itself within your team.

The Warmest Place to Hide

Players must maintain trust among their squad members while keeping an eye out for imitations of the aliens, ensuring fear and paranoia do not lead to mutiny or worse.

Gaining the trust of your squad and managing their fear levels are critical. Paranoia can cause squad members to become defiant or succumb to irrational fears.

The remaster includes upgraded models, textures, and animations, hand-crafted by Nightdive Studios for a more immersive experience, along with enhanced lighting and atmospheric effects.

Stunning Visuals

The Thing: Remastered supports stunning visuals at up to 4K resolution and 120FPS on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, offering players a detailed and intense experience.

Nightdive Studios has ensured that the remaster stays true to its roots while updating it for modern gaming systems. This title is available now digitally across multiple platforms, catering to fans of survival horror looking to relive or discover one of the genre’s cult-classic titles.
