Outbreak: Shades of Horror – Chromatic Split Now Available on Xbox Series X|S and Steam

Dead Drop Studios has released Outbreak: Shades of Horror – Chromatic Split, a standalone prologue to the upcoming Outbreak: Shades of Horror game. The title is now available for purchase on Xbox Series X|S consoles and PC via Steam.

Chromatic Split serves as a bridge between the previous entry in the series, Outbreak: The FEDORA Files, and the forthcoming full game. Players take on the role of Detective Lydia Daniels as she explores the Cypress Ridge sewers during the early days of a zombie apocalypse.

The game features three acts of story-driven gameplay that blends puzzle-solving, stealth, and resource management with intense survival horror action. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, Chromatic Split offers immersive environments and detailed visuals. Players can switch between first-person and third-person perspectives as they fight off zombie hordes using a variety of weapons, including a lead pipe, handgun, and shotgun.

Careful management of limited resources like ammo and healing supplies is critical to survival, and players must balance their inventory space accordingly. The game also includes bonus modes such as Onslaught, Besieged, and Looming Dread, along with a New Game Plus feature for added replayability.

A version for PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro consoles is currently in development, with an expected launch date sometime in late 2024.
