Team Ladybug’s new Metroidvania title, Blade Chimera, is now available for purchase on both Nintendo Switch and Steam. The cyberpunk-themed game features intricate pixel art and a focus on worldbuilding, according to the developers. To celebrate the launch, Blade Chimera is available at a 10% discount on Steam for two weeks.
Cyberpunk Metroidvania Gameplay
Blade Chimera marks Team Ladybug’s first original Metroidvania title. The studio previously developed Record of Lodoss War -Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth-, which was inspired by classic Castlevania games. In Blade Chimera, players explore a detailed cyberpunk world, battling enemies and uncovering secrets. The game boasts a distinctive visual style with fluid animations for character movement and weapon attacks.
Launch Sale and Collaborative Bundle
In addition to the launch discount on Steam, players can also purchase Blade Chimera as part of a collaborative bundle with Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, another popular Metroidvania. This “Metroidvania New Generation Bundle” offers a 20% discount on Blade Chimera for those who already own Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night on Steam. The bundle is available until February 28, 2025.
Availability and Features
Both the Switch and Steam versions of Blade Chimera offer the same core gameplay experience, including Steam achievements for PC players. The game’s soundtrack is also available for purchase separately on Steam.
