505 Games and KUNOS Simulazioni have launched Assetto Corsa EVO into Early Access on Steam. The highly anticipated racing simulator promises a significant leap forward in realism and features compared to its predecessor, Assetto Corsa.
A New Generation of Driving Simulations
Building upon the foundation of the popular Assetto Corsa franchise, EVO introduces a new proprietary engine developed specifically for racing games. This allows for enhanced visuals with photorealistic details, dynamic weather and track conditions that evolve throughout a full 24-hour race cycle, and support for VR and triple-screen setups. The developers emphasize the game’s commitment to driving realism, meticulously simulating the mechanical, electronic, and aerodynamic performance of each vehicle.
Early Access Content and Roadmap
The Early Access release includes 20 cars spanning various classes, five circuits located across four continents (Laguna Seca, Brands Hatch, Imola, Mount Panorama, and Suzuka), and a selection of single-player game modes. These include practice sessions, quick races, and the new Driving Academy, which guides players through track sections and challenges with different vehicles.
KUNOS Simulazioni plans to regularly update Assetto Corsa EVO throughout Early Access, adding new content like cars, tracks, and multiplayer functionality. The full 1.0 release is expected in Fall 2025 and will include a total of 100 cars and 15 officially licensed circuits, with five additional tracks available as free post-launch updates. A highly anticipated Open World map based on the Nürburgring region in Germany is also planned.
Pricing and Community Involvement
Assetto Corsa EVO is currently available on Steam Early Access for €39.99 | $39.99 | £32.99, with a 20% discount for a limited time. The developers encourage community feedback during this phase to help shape the final product.
