FromSoftware has announced a closed network test for their upcoming multiplayer co-op action RPG, Elden Ring: Nightreign. Players interested in trying out the game can register now at nightreign.com/nt for a chance to participate in the test, which will run from February 14th to 17th on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Cooperative Gameplay and Shifting World
Elden Ring: Nightreign is set in a parallel universe to the events of Elden Ring and focuses on cooperative gameplay. Players can team up in squads of three as “Nightfarers” to explore the ever-changing world of Limveld, battling increasingly difficult enemies and bosses over a three day-and-night cycle.
The game introduces a unique mechanic where the map shrinks with each approaching night, culminating in a final confrontation against a powerful Nightlord. Players who fall in battle can utilize collected relics to customize and upgrade their characters for future attempts.
Character Choices and Progression
Players will choose from eight distinct characters, each possessing unique abilities and powerful “Ultimates.” Combat emphasizes cooperation, encouraging players to combine their skills to overcome challenges. Defeating enemies and exploring Limveld’s dangerous areas yields weapons, Rune rewards, and opportunities to level up at Sites of Grace.
Elden Ring: Nightreign is scheduled for release in 2025 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. This new title marks a departure from FromSoftware’s traditional formula, offering a condensed action RPG experience with procedurally generated elements and a strong focus on cooperative gameplay.
