Publisher Dotemu (known for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, Streets of Rage 4) and developer The Game Kitchen (Blasphemous series) have announced NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound, an all-new original action platformer based on the NES version of NINJA GAIDEN. The game is set to release for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One in Summer 2025.

NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound is a 2D sidescrolling action platformer that channels the classic and modern NINJA GAIDEN trilogies from KOEI TECMO GAMES. The game features high-speed, challenging combat known for its intricate technical depth and rewarding difficulty.
The story of NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound picks up in Hayabusa Village after Ryu Hayabusa leaves to avenge his father’s death as told in the NES version of NINJA GAIDEN. A new hero, Kenji Mozu, emerges. The veil between the human and demon worlds has torn open, allowing darkness to infiltrate Hayabusa Village. Kenji Mozu, a young ninja of the Hayabusa clan, must protect his village from an imminent demonic threat.
