Brace yourself for a childhood nightmare come to life—Twisted Tower, the darkly comedic FPS from Saber Interactive’s 3D Realms and indie developer Atmos Games, has just launched its first playable demo on Steam. This release coincides with Steam Next Fest, giving players a chance to explore the eerie remnants of an abandoned theme park filled with corrupted fairy-tale mascots and sinister surprises.
What’s in the Demo?
The Twisted Tower demo offers a glimpse into the game’s twisted world, letting players climb the first floors of the titular tower. Expect encounters with demented enemies like Huggee Bear, Ticklin’ Tommy, and Smiley the Telephone, all while wielding an arsenal of bizarre weapons such as a rubber-band pistol and a farting shotgun. The demo also teases the game’s mysterious narrative, which revolves around uncovering the dark secrets of a 1950s resort and battling your way to save your lost love.

A Darkly Whimsical Experience
Described as “BioShock meets Disneyland,” Twisted Tower blends emotional storytelling with over-the-top action. Players will face off against nightmarish mascots using wacky weaponry in an environment dripping with nostalgia and terror. The game is helmed by Thomas Brush, known for indie hits like Pinstripe and Neversong, ensuring a unique mix of heartfelt narrative and chaotic gameplay.
