NetEase Games and Nitroplus Co., Ltd. have announced that their upcoming 2.5D side-scroller, Rusty Rabbit, will launch on April 17, 2025 for PlayStation 5, PC (Steam), and Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders are now available for the PS5 and Switch versions, with early access for PS5 players starting on April 14th.
A Frozen World Filled With Adventure
In Rusty Rabbit, players control Stamp, a rabbit who scavenges for scrap in the frozen ruins of a world abandoned by humanity. Stamp embarks on a journey to uncover the truth behind his missing daughter and the secrets hidden within these desolate landscapes after a crash landing takes him to the world’s lower levels.
Developed in collaboration between NetEase Games and visual novel powerhouse Nitroplus, Rusty Rabbit promises a blend of action-packed gameplay and an engaging narrative. The original concept and screenplay are penned by renowned anime writer Gen Urobuchi, known for his work on acclaimed series like Puella Magi Madoka Magica and PSYCHO-PASS.
Gameplay Features and Pre-Order Bonuses
The game features RPG-like progression elements, allowing players to upgrade Stamp’s mech, “Junkster,” with collected parts and materials. Combat emphasizes a fast-paced “smash and dash” style, encouraging players to navigate the maze-like ruins with agility and precision.
Pre-ordering Rusty Rabbit on PS5 grants access to the game three days early. A physical edition will be available for Nintendo Switch in Japan and Asia. PC (Steam) pre-orders include a bonus soundtrack composed by Busted Rose, who has contributed music to anime projects like Pop Team Epic.
Demo Available February 20th
Players can get an early taste of Rusty Rabbit’s world with a demo launching on February 20th. The demo will offer a glimpse into the game’s beginning and allow players to transfer their save data to the full release.
