Steam Release and Collaborative Bundle

The Steam version of Blade Chimera will feature a surprise collaborative bundle on release day. Dubbed the “Metroidvania ??? ??? Bundle,” this bundle is set to include another game, with details about its identity and the meaning behind the question marks revealed on January 16th.

About Blade Chimera

Blade Chimera is an original metroidvania by Team Ladybug, known for their critically acclaimed titles such as Touhou Luna Nights, which has sold over 500,000 copies. The game offers a larger map and more areas to explore than any of Team Ladybug’s previous projects.

Players take on the role of Shin, a demon hunter with no memory of his past, who teams up with Lux, a beautiful shapeshifting demon sword capable of performing powerful attacks and restoring lost objects. The game features an extensive skill tree that allows players to unlock various abilities like “Warp” for travel and double-jump for exploration.

Blade Chimera‘s story revolves around the sudden appearance of a demonic horde in what became known as the Demon War, 30 years ago. The religious group called the Holy Union has since established a stable enclave for survivors.

Demo and Release Date

A demo version of Blade Chimera is available on Steam, allowing players to try out the game before its full release on January 16th. Players can carry their save file from the demo over to the full version upon purchase.

Main Features of Blade Chimera

  • Demon Sword Lux: A powerful companion that performs various utilities, including shielding and object restoration.
  • Skill Tree System: Unlock new skills like “Warp” for travel and double-jump for exploration.
  • Variety of Weapons: Use a main firearm along with other weapons such as greatswords and whips to create personalized combat styles.

The game is set in a corrupted, demon-ridden world where Shin must uncover the mysteries of his past while battling brutal demons. Blade Chimera will launch on Steam and Nintendo Switch on January 16th, 2025.
