Indie developer Michał Marcinkowski, known for titles like Soldat and King Arthur’s Gold, has announced his latest project: Jackal. This top-down shooter draws inspiration from both the intense action of Hotline Miami and the crime drama aesthetics of Quentin Tarantino films. Set in the neon-drenched underworld of 1970s Las Vegas, Jackal casts players as a hitman tasked with eliminating rival mobsters and seizing control of their illicit gambling operations.
Brutal Close-Quarters Combat
Players will engage in intense close-quarters combat, utilizing whatever weapons are at hand. From firearms to knives, pool cues, chairs, or even improvised objects found within the environment, every encounter demands quick thinking and precise execution. The game emphasizes a visceral, unforgiving style reminiscent of classic action films.

Procedurally Generated Levels and Modifiers
Jackal promises high replayability through randomly generated rooms within its casinos and hotels. Stackable gameplay modifiers add an extra layer of unpredictability, allowing players to tailor the difficulty and challenge according to their preferences. This procedural approach ensures that each playthrough offers a unique and thrilling experience.
A Retro Aesthetic with Modern Gameplay
The game’s visual style evokes the gritty charm of 1970s Las Vegas, with a pixel art aesthetic reminiscent of classic arcade games. While paying homage to retro sensibilities, Jackal incorporates modern gameplay mechanics and design principles for a fresh and engaging experience.
