Forever Entertainment and MegaPixel Studio announced that House of the Dead 2: Remake, a revitalized version of the classic arcade rail shooter, will launch in spring 2025. The remake will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, PC via Steam and GOG.

Returning to the Undead City
This remake revisits the events of House of the Dead 2, originally released in 1999. Players will once again take on the roles of AMS agents James Taylor or Gary Stewart, tasked with investigating a city overrun by hostile creatures reminiscent of the Curien Mansion incident from the first game. The remake promises modern graphics and remastered music while staying true to the original gameplay that captivated fans.
Gameplay Features
House of the Dead 2: Remake includes several modes for players to enjoy. Alongside the classic campaign, a Boss Mode challenges players to swiftly defeat each of the game’s bosses, while a Training Mode allows them to hone their zombie-slaying skills before jumping into the main story. The game also features cooperative mode for those who prefer to face the undead horde with a partner.
Other notable features include:
- Multiple endings and branching levels, encouraging replayability.
- The option to switch between remastered music and the original soundtrack.

Following in the Footsteps of a Remake
This marks the second House of the Dead game to receive a modern remake. The first House of the Dead: Remake, released in 2022, garnered mixed reviews due to concerns regarding controls and performance on last-generation consoles. Fans will be watching closely to see if House of the Dead 2: Remake addresses these issues and delivers a satisfying experience for both long-time fans and newcomers to the series.
